KITCHEN SPLASHBACK

Cumbaya, Ecuador - 2021

Art can do wonderful things when there are no windows in a space. The magical owner of this space wanted a colorful kitchen that included her personal stories like the ants of her childhood memories and her present babies. I was inspired by some of the patterns by William Morris, but I wanted a splashback that had the continuity of a pattern + the surprise of a painting. I think we made it work.
