matrioshkas
Was made for the collective exhibition MAS ES MAS in CAC, The Center for Contemporary Art in Quito, Ecuador. The artist Paula Barragan invited me to participate in this exhibition. This installation is inspired in the Matrioshkas dolls, but these are bigger and of them has water which is connected to the bathrooms of the museum and all of them have soil inside them for plants to grow. The idea was that the visitor will rinse the plants and that they will grow during the time of the exhibition. After the exhibition was over, Matrioshkas went to live in nature.
Matrioskas fueron creadas para la exposición colectiva MAS ES MAS en el museo del CAC o Centro de Arte Contemporáneo en Quito, Ecuador. La artista Paula Barragan me invitó a participar en esta exposición. La obra está inspirada en las muñecas Matrioshkas pero una de ellas tiene agua y está conectada por un tubo al baño del museo, todas tienen tierra y plantas. Los visitantes de la exposición podían regar la obra durante el tiempo de la exposición y la idea era que las plantas continuarían creciendo. Cuando la exposición se terminó las Matrioshkas se fueron a vivir en la naturaleza.
